On an unexpectedly glorious day Emily and I set out for Enfield for the St Peter's Church Summer Fete. Arriving well in advance we popped round to Kam and Caitlin's, ate some wedding brownies (the edges) and set off for the church! We had a marquee waiting for us so set up our wares - bags, accessories, cards, the lot! The weather was gorgeous and an hour before the fete was due to start there was a queue! Woohoo! So we took the chance to do a little shopping ourselves, and some had a go on the bouncy castle - not mentioning any names!
We were lucky to meet some great people, particularly Heather and Iona, my newest customers, and everyone who showed an interest and appreciation for our hardwork!
Then I had a surprise visit from my very good friend Corinne, fresh from travelling around the world!
Then, as only is possible in the Great British Summertime (cue copious amounts of eye-rolling), the heavens opened and it POURED with rain! Fortunately it was near the end of the fete, and the resultant thunderstorm was excellent to watch! So we settled down in the warm at the Greer home and tucked into Saturday night home-made burgers! Mmmmm....
The event was overall a great success and real pleasure, seeing my closest friends and showing and selling my latest range of handbags and accessories....
Les Sacs Magique joined Cornflower Country Crafts for a lovely day at Castlepoint Shopping Centre. The weather was lovely, the shoppers were out and there was even a mini cinema reunion!
I want to thank everyone for their support in showing up, despite hangovers, and to all of those who bought something. Another successful event and some further appreciation for my arm candy!
Miraculously managing to avoid rain for the whole 3 hours, Les Sacs Magique attended the Ballard School Fair on Friday 12th June, amidst the fun of bouncy castles, china smashing and other craft stalls. It was good fun and I met lots of lovely people, despite my sales being lower than I'd been hoping for. Something tells me parents chasing after their sugar-high kids don't really want to "shop" ;-)
Nevertheless it was a worthwhile event enjoyed by all!
Les Sacs Magique attended Burley Village Hall for the second time this year with the lovely ladies of Cornflower Country Crafts. Though the event was a little quiet it was a good day with some bacon sarnies thrown in for good measure! For information on the next Cornflower Country Crafts events visit click here.
My solo visit to Greenwich Market on Saturday 30th May began at 5am! I packed up the car and set off to Greenwich, slightly dubious I would reach it without a hitch! However I arrived with 15 minutes to spare and was thankfully granted a prime spot at the market. It was a great day with good sales and visits from friends, with special thanks to Cat and Ailsa who watched the stall while I went to the loo and boosted my sales! Oh and they helped pack up and took me for dinner! Excellent day all round! I spent the night at my sisters and was delighted to sell more when I got to her flat and set up my mini-shop for the benefit of her visiting friend! Thanks so much to everyone who helped me.... Mwah!
Emily and I packed up our suitcases of treasures and headed for an AIB event at Sixty Million Postcards entitled "Grab Your Pearls Girls..."
Other then the peculiar man desperate to haggle with Emily it was a good event, free to do so thats always a bonus! There was a fair bit of interest and some sales so all was good!
The other stalls were great too with lots of awesome stuff, I had to be very disciplined, I was there to make cash not spend it! We also had the support of Stephen, Lindsey, Sarah, Brian, Allan and The Kid, who amongst other things made our table look pretty and provided change where necessary!
Add all that together with a pint of Brothers Strawberry Pear Cider and the Mad Bagger and chums had some fun....
My first event with Cornflower Country Crafts at Burley Village Hall proved successful! It was great to be at an event organised by like-minded people, and in turn be at the fair with all sorts of artists. I found my bags well received and got both custom orders and on the day sales from the event. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day in the lovely setting of Burley in the New Forest. There are regular event with Cornflower Country Crafts, please see the website for further details: http://www.cornflowercountrycrafts.com/
On 26th and 27th April, Les Sacs Magique attended its first trade event, Select@Bath in the Assembly Rooms. In the extraordinary setting of the ball room and with help from my fantastic mum, I set up my shabby chic "room" styled trade stand, exhibiting my arm candy as bag art, framed in a mixture of vintage and new frames.
Between mum and I we secured several orders for outlets ranging from Cardiff to Crewkerne, as well as securing an order from the Jane Austen Centre at Bath for exclusive designs by Les Sacs Magique for both the gift shop and website.
I just want to thank my mum who was such a help to me at the event, supported me fully and was good fun to have around, and was a rather great saleswoman, I love you mum!
Well not headlines exactly, but there is a feature on Les Sacs Magique in today's Bournemouth Echo.
Its a nice full-page article on page 10 with several images of my handbags as well as one of me and my trusty machine (groan!)! So if you get a chance, but a copy and take a look, and if you don't there's an online version or here's an image of the article:
Les Sacs Magique attended Greenwich Market for the first time today as a trial day to get a weekend pitch.
It all started at 4:45am when Lindsey and I got up and drove, albeit rather stressfully, to Greenwich. We finally made it there and, armed with our Les Sacs Magique aprons, name badges and bags galore, set up the stall:
It was a successful day, aided by my loyal customer Caitlin, and we sold a large portion of the stock as well as recieving an order. In addtion, Les Sacs Magique was granted permission to trade on the weekends! So we'll be seeing you at Greenwich again very soon!
